Botox is a prescription medicine made from a protein complex. Repeated muscle activity causes facial wrinkles and creases, as well as frown lines between your eyebrows. The injections reduce the muscle activity. Your facial expressions will still show, but without wrinkles or creases. Each injection lasts only a few seconds, and the entire treatment takes about 15 minutes.
After Botox Treatment
For four hours after the treatment, you should avoid strenuous exercise and lying down. Otherwise, you can resume your normal activity.
You might experience brief, minimal discomfort. Some patients report redness or bruising that diminishes within a week.
Within a week, you’ll see the results of the injections.

Over a 30-day period, you’ll continue to see improvement in your facial creases and lines.
Frown lines are smoothed away 14 days after Botox treatment.
The results last three to six months, so if you want to maintain a smooth facial appearance, the treatment must be repeated.
Carmel Juvederm Treatment
Juvederm is a dermal filler that is injected into your skin to add moisture and volume and smooth away creases, folds, and facial wrinkles.
The hyaluronic acid in Juvederm is found naturally in body tissue. This acid absorbs water, moisturizes the skin, and gives it volume. Hyaluronic acid decreases as you age, but Juvederm restores it to your skin to help diminish creases, wrinkles, and folds. The procedure takes about 15 minutes. You’ll see results immediately, and they will last eight months to a year.
Juvederm hydrates the skin to remove folds, as these pictures show.
After Juvederm Treatment
For 24 hours following the treatment, you should avoid extended exposure to the heat or sun, strenuous exercise, and alcohol consumption. Some patients experience mild tenderness, bruising, or redness, but these gradually clear up within a week.
Creases that extend from the nose and around the lips are smoothed away.
The treatment should be repeated every eight to twelve months, if you want to maintain the results.
